  • The Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement teaches the knowledge, skills, responsibilities, and habits of citizen engagement in democracy. We give students, faculty, and staff the tools they need to foster a vibrant culture of civic engagement on WashU's campus. Previously, we have presented at department meetings, held voter registration trainings, and developed voter registration and education literature for our partners to share across campus.

    WashU Votes is a non-partisan student-led voter engagement and education organization affiliated with the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement. We host weekly meetings, register and empower students to vote, and engage with the St. Louis community through volunteer work and tabling. We have previously co-hosted voter registration drives, co-facilitated discussions, planned events, collaborated on social media outreach, and provided voter education materials to student groups and departments.
